Hotel Best Tenerife

We have visited the Best Tenerife on a few occasions and by far this was the worst. At best I would say that we experienced a 2 star rating and not the 4 star advertised. The hotel is tired and in places dirty looking with couches in the lobby area burst and exposing foam, corridors looked dirty. More alarmingly the dirty cutlery in the dining room, and dirty bed linen placed on our bed. We stayed at the hotel for 10 nights and barely got a hot meal in the restaurant and the pool bar. We tried to address our concerns locally at the hotel and we were offered a change of room but that does not address the concerns we had as you can imagine dirty linen could be placed on any bed in any room. We have also tried to address these concerns with our tour operator whilst in resort and also on our return home however they are also stating that we have had a 4 star experience because of the facilities offered, in our opinion these facilities should also come with a level of cleanliness that this hotel fell far short in:

I came with my husband in September and our stay was unfortunately marred by significant and unacceptable issues, primarily concerning poor hygiene and maintenance. While some aspects were functional, the core experience fell short of basic hotel standards. ​The Unacceptable: Hygiene Failures - ​The most critical issue was the presence of cockroaches. We found one in our room and, shockingly, another was visible in the restaurant during breakfast, where the staff seemed completely indifferent, carrying on without attempting to remove it. This lack of concern from the staff was deeply worrying. Furthermore, the cleaning service was subpar: ​I noticed a stain on my pillow that remained there the following day, leading me to believe the bedding was not changed daily, despite the beds being made. ​The air conditioning unit was visibly dusty, making us hesitant to use it, which was a nightmare during hot nights. ​Service and Value: Demoralising Treatment - ​The hotel's approach to all-inclusive guests felt demoralising and cheap. All-inclusive guests were only permitted to drink out of flimsy plastic or small paper Pepsi cups, a stark contrast to standard glassware. This gave a distinct impression that the hotel was cutting corners and treating these guests as second-class, negatively impacting the overall vacation experience. ​We also paid extra for a "Superior Room," but it did not feel different from standard rooms, and the only real advantage—roof terrace access—was an upgrade option for anyone, making the 'superior' booking feel like poor value. ​Maintenance and Amenities - ​The general upkeep and promised amenities were also disappointing: ​The lifts were a constant source of frustration. They took forever, and one of the three was constantly breaking down. ​The roof terrace was never properly maintained. Despite being closed until 10 AM for cleaning, cigarette butts were left on the floor every day we were there. ​My key card failed repeatedly to grant access to the roof terrace, forcing my husband to make frequent complaints to the reception desk. ​It was inconvenient that irons were not available due to "safety reasons," which is an unreasonable restriction for adult guests. ​Food and Entertainment - ​The food was poor and highly repetitive. Even during 'theme nights,' the offerings felt largely the same every evening. ​The adult entertainment was appalling, often lasting only 50 minutes per night, forcing us to go out most evenings. ​Recommendation: ​I would not recommend this hotel unless significant, fundamental improvements are made to hygiene protocols, maintenance (especially the lifts), and food quality. The lack of basic respect shown to all-inclusive guests and the pervasive hygiene issues are major red flags.

Absolutely brilliant hotel definitely returning pool was great hotel room very good cleaned every day food hit and miss but wouldn’t stop me going again location brilliant staff friendly and helpful can’t wait to go back

Just returned after a lovely 2 weeks. The hotel is in a great location. Our room was on the 5th floor with access to the rooftop terrace, which was a nice treat for my wife and I when our daughter was in kids club. Room was spacious but felt the bathroom was a bit dated. The food was ok, but as we were there for 2 weeks we did out as well to vary it. The pool area was busy but always found sunbeds as we aren't ones for getting up early to reserve them! All the staff at the hotel are lovely and a special mention to Margot from the kids entertainment team who our daughter loved! Kids club was only 3 days a week. The only issue I had is the overcrowded pool and the lifeguards not monitoring inflatables and people messing around. This was especially noticeable on the pool party day where lots of people in the pool and balloons being thrown in and children rushing to the deep end. A great location if you want to be close to all the bars and restaurants and close to beaches.

Lovely hotel don’t let the negative reviews put you off, location is prefect the staff are very welcoming the rooms are spotless what more do you require. The pool is also large and has plenty of sunbeds. A little disappointed with the entertainment programme compared to previous years but that’s my only negative. We had another lovely stay and will definitely return in the future
